Privacy at ByteBloom

Updated September 20, 2026. ByteBloom is hosted at vicfromthe904.com and operated by Bill Cook. Contact bill@cooktech.us about account or privacy questions.

Your account and progress

Guest progress stays in your browser. A player account stores your username, verified email address, password hash if you use a password, recovery-code hash, and cloud game saves on this site’s hosting service, HostGator. Passwords and recovery codes are stored as hashes, rather than readable copies.

Google and Facebook sign-in

When available, these options receive a provider account identifier and email address to create or connect your player account. Google confirms your sign-in; Facebook’s basic profile permission may also provide a public name or picture, but ByteBloom requests only the identifier and email for its account records. ByteBloom does not request your inbox, contacts, social posts or permission to post. Temporary sign-in tokens are used on the server to confirm identity and are not stored as long-term access tokens. You can also use a ByteBloom username and password.

Cookies and local storage

A necessary session cookie keeps you signed in. Browser storage holds device saves, preferences and cloud-sync information. The game does not use advertising cookies. Google or Facebook may use their own cookies when you visit their sign-in pages, under their own privacy policies.

Security and site statistics

The owner can review registration and sign-in events, email verification requests and network addresses to approve accounts or block abuse. Application security events are normally removed after 30 days. First-party statistics record visits, broad device and browser categories, referring site names, time spent and selected gameplay events; these events are normally removed after 90 days. Statistics do not record your password or the contents of another website’s pages. Hosting providers may also keep operational logs under their own retention practices.

Use and deletion

Account information is used for authentication, game saves, moderation and service operation. Verification emails are transactional; ByteBloom does not send marketing email or include advertisements. Account information is not sold. Account records and saves remain until deletion. Delete your account from the account screen or contact the owner for help. Copies in your browser are separate from cloud saves and can be removed through your browser’s site-data settings. Hosting backups, if present, may retain earlier copies until they expire.
